President Mohamud awards medals to the Somali U-17 team

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: President Hassan Sheikh Mohammed today feted Somalia’s U-17 football team after winning the CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers.

The team, which landed this morning at Mogadishu’s Aden Abdulle Airport, was accorded a heroic welcome by ministers, MPs, senior government officials, and members of the public.

The Ocean Stars, who beat South Sudan 3:1, will be heading to Algeria in 2023 for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
