President Mohamud Calls on Diaspora to Back Nation’s Rebuilding

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has urged Somalis abroad to return home and take part in the country’s reconstruction, as he highlighted his government’s record during a three-year performance exhibition in Mogadishu.

Speaking at the “Dan-Qaran Government’s Performance Exhibition (2022–2025),” President Mohamud said national progress depended on collective effort, not the government alone.

“The results are visible to the public,” he said, pointing to achievements showcased by ministries and agencies. He acknowledged shortcomings but pledged to prevent officials from undermining state institutions and to keep decision-making within the presidency.

The president also underscored the need to respect the Constitution, while signalling readiness to pursue amendments through public consultation.

Mohamud appealed for confidence in state institutions, linking it to peace and security as the foundation for Somalia’s long-term stability and growth.
