President Mohamud Chairs Somalia’s Security Meeting in New York

GOOBJOOG NEWS | NEW YORK: Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is in New York, USA to chair a high-level meeting at the United Nations General Assembly focused on Somalia’s security, military reconstruction, and liberation operations.

Representatives from 26 countries, the United Nations, the Arab League, the European Union, and the African Union are attending the conference. e

Among the issues to be discussed are; Progress and Challenges in Somalia’s Security Sector where Somalia’s security forces and identify key areas for improvement will be discussed, Somalia Security Development Plan, where participants will discuss the implementation of the national security architecture and its effectiveness in addressing security threats.

Somalia’s International Support for Security and Development will also be on the table where the conference will explore ways to enhance international cooperation and support for Somalia’s ongoing security and development efforts.

The conference is expected to conclude with a joint statement outlining the key outcomes and next steps for supporting Somalia’s security and development agenda.
