President Mohamud expected to leave for Turkey today

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is expected to travel to Ankara on Sunday, following an official invitation from the Turkish government.

According to sources privy to the information, President Mohamud’s trip which will last for three days will see him meet with President Erdogan and the Somali community in Turkey.

President Mohamud is scheduled to sign a number of agreements with Turkish officials and also meet with Turkish aid agencies to seek help for the Somali people affected by drought. 

This is President Hassan Sheikh’s second trip out of the country since his election on May 15th. His first official visit out of the country saw him in the United Arab Emirates, ten days after he was sworn into office.
