President Mohamud Holds High-Level Diplomatic Meetings in Kenya
GOOBJOOG NEWS | NAIROBI: Federal Republic of Somalia president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud held high-level diplomatic engagements during his visit to Nairobi, Kenya, for the 6th Session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA).
During his meeting with Kenya’s president William Ruto, the two leaders discuss avenues for expanding their close partnership and enhancing economic and security ties.
Their discussions also underscored the mutual commitment to further developing relations for the benefit of both the Somali and Kenyan people.
The president also met with his Djibouti counterpart, President Ismail Omar Guelleh discussions centered on cooperation between Somalia and Djibouti, particularly in addressing shared challenges related to security and regional stability.
The meeting reaffirmed the importance of collaboration between the two countries in promoting peace and security in the region.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is in Nairobi for the 6th Session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA), a high-level summit focusing on environmental multilateralism to tackle pressing planetary crises.
As a participant in the assembly, President Mohamud seeks to explore avenues for enhancing international cooperation on environmental issues.
