President Mohamud Inspects SNA Headquarters in Mogadishu

GOOBJOOG NEWS |MOGADISHU: Federal Republic of Somalia president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud Wednesday visited the Somali National Army command headquarters in Mogadishu where he was briefed on the progress of the ongoing offensive against the Al-shabaab militant group.

Top military officials led by SNA Chief Major General Ibrahim Sheikh Muhudin and Somali Air Force and Navy commanders also presented their plan to the Commander in Chief on their next move in the coming second phase of the war which is aimed at dismantling the militant’s bases in all parts of the country.

The military officials informed the president that both ground and air operations will be intensified so as to maintain the momentum which has seen the militants lose ground and several military equipment recovered from the group across the country.

They also said that the progress of winding up the first phase of the war against the militant group had been intensified and will be concluded in a few months to come.
