President Mohamud Joins Horn of Africa Leaders for Talks in Djibouti

GOOBJOOG NEWS | DJIBOUTI CITY: President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud joined regional leaders in Djibouti for trilateral talks focused on strengthening security and economic cooperation in the Horn of Africa.

President Mohamud met with Djibouti’s President Ismail Omar Guelleh and Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed in Djibouti City for discussions on regional stability and collaboration among the three neighbouring countries.

The president highlighted the importance of closer cooperation to address common challenges, including security threats and the need to advance economic development across the region.

The talks also covered counterterrorism cooperation, Somalia’s ongoing democratization process and efforts to strengthen regional peace and stability.

The Leaders further explored ways to boost investment, improve cross-border movement and develop infrastructure aimed at promoting deeper regional integration.

President Mohamud thanked Djibouti for hosting the meeting and emphasized the value of continued consultations among leaders in the Horn of Africa to enhance cooperation and address shared priorities.
