President Mohamud Meets Top Security Chiefs as Somalia Ramps up War on Al-Shabaab

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Federal Republic of Somalia president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has stated his government’s commitment to eliminating the security threat posed by the Al-shabaab militant group to the country.

While chairing a high-level security meeting in Mogadishu Thursday, president Mohamud commended the bravery and dedication of Somali forces engaged in combating terrorism and stressed the importance of public support in ensuring the success of security operations.

The meeting, attended by top security officials, focused on intensifying efforts to liberate territories currently under the control of Al-Shabab militants.

The president stressed the need for coordinated and strategic actions among the various security forces to counter the group effectively, and reiterated the government’s determination to restore peace and stability across Somalia.

He also noted the security challenges posed by the group to the region and emphasized the importance of a collaborative effort in addressing the challenges.
