President Mohamud Meets UAE Envoy to Deepen Economic and Security Ties

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Wednesday received a delegation led by UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan for talks on strengthening bilateral cooperation.

The meeting focused on boosting ties in the economic and security sectors. Sheikh Shakhboot delivered a message from UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Mohamud.

Somalia and the UAE have deepened relations in recent years, with Abu Dhabi providing humanitarian aid, security training and investment in infrastructure projects.

President Mohamud thanked the UAE for its continued support and said Somalia remained committed to expanding its partnership with Abu Dhabi as the country pursues peace, democratization and development.
