President Mohamud meets with UAE President Mohamed Bin Zayed

GOOBJOOG NEWS|ABU DHABI: The Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud who is on a working visit in UAE has met the country’s president Mohamed Bin Zayed in Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi. 

President Mohamed Bin Zayed offered his congratulations to Mr Mohamud on his recent election as president and wished him success in leading the nation.

He also expressed his desire for the African nation to achieve its development goals and secure stability and prosperity for its people, reiterating UAE’s commitment to supporting Somalia in its efforts to ensure peace and stability and in areas of construction and development.

For his part, President Mohamud thanked Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed and offered his gratitude to the UAE for its long-standing assistance, adding that he looked forward to continuing to work with the Emirates to achieve its ambitions.

The visit to UAE comes after UAE’s Minister of State Sheikh Shakhbout, attended the inauguration ceremony for President Mohamud, which was held in Mogadishu on June 9.
