President Mohamud Receives Credentials From Seven New Ambassadors

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Wednesday received the credentials of seven newly appointed ambassadors to Somalia, as Mogadishu seeks to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties with countries across Africa, Asia and South America.

The ambassadors represent Algeria, Brazil, India, Mali, Myanmar, Nigeria and Pakistan.

They are Mohamed Alim of Algeria, Joao Alfredo Dos Anjos of Brazil, Dr Adarsh Swaika of India, Dr Madou Diallo of Mali, Aung Min Oo of Myanmar, Danlami Ibrahim of Nigeria and Aqsa Nawaz of Pakistan.

During the ceremony at the presidential palace in Mogadishu, the ambassadors briefed Hassan Sheikh on their priorities and plans for strengthening relations and cooperation with Somalia.

The president urged the new envoys to contribute to closer ties during their tenure, particularly in political cooperation, trade and investment, development, security and social affairs.

The ambassadors conveyed messages and greetings from the leaders of their respective countries and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Somalia.

The ceremony comes as Somalia seeks to broaden its diplomatic and economic partnerships, deepen engagement with African and Asian countries and expand cooperation with emerging partners such as Brazil.
