President Mohamud reiterates government’s commitment to secure the country

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: President Hassan Sh. Mohamud has said that the Government is committed to the fight against Al-Shabaab until the militant group is completely eliminated.

Speaking at the event in Dhusamareb town together with regional leaders and Government officials after the conclusion of the National Consultative Council, President Mohamud said the ongoing offensive against the Alshabaab was going on as planned.

He further stated that the amnesty issued by government was still valid and that members of the terror group who are willing to surrender should take advantage of the amnesty and return to their homes to join hands with other Somali citizens in building the country.

President Mohamud has been in Dhusamareb town for the past three weeks to scale up the operation against Al-Shabaab.
