President Mohamud to host FMS leaders for maiden meeting

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is today his first meeting with the Federal Member States under the aegis of the National Leadership Forum which defined his relationship with the regional leaders during his first term.

The leaders of Galmudug, South West, Puntland, Jubaland and Banaadir Regional Administration are converging today at Villa Somalia for the meeting. Immediate former president Mohamed Farmaajo suffered a rocky relationship with the FMS leaders for a better part of his administration.

The meeting comes two days after President Mohamud was inaugurated in Mogadishu for his second term in office. The new president will be banking on the NLF to drive his administration’s agenda including coordinating the humanitarian response in light of the devastating drought.

President Mohamud visited Galmudug and South West state last week on his first trip to the region since he was elected on May 15.
