President Mohamud to leave Dhusamareb for Mahas to bolster war efforts

GOOBJOOG NEWS|HIIRAAN: President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is today expected to leave Dhusamareb in Galmudug state where he has been overseeing the war for about a month and head south-west to Mahas as part of the ongoing command of the war against Al-Shabaab.

The President has been commanding the war in Mudug and Galgadud regions from his command in Dhusamareb, the capital of Galmudug state located some 450 kilometres north-east of the capital Mogadishu.

Mahasn district is located in Hiiraan region about 130 kilometres southwest of Dhusamareb where the president has been based. It borders strategic towns such as El Buur nd Wahbo which were recently liberated from Al-Shabab control.

Sources said among those who will be receiving the President is former Hiiraan governor Ali Jeyte who led the war in Hiiraan region from last July before he was sacked mid-this year.
