President Mohamud upbeat about ongoing war against Al-Shabaab

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Federal Government of Somalia president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has said his government has had many successes in the ongoing war against the Al-Shabaab militants.

Speaking while attending the pass out ceremony of units of the National Guard Missile Brigade at General Gordan Camp in Mogadishu, the president said the government is conducting a  historic operation  aimed at liberating Somalia and rebuilding the Somali National Army to enhance their capacity to protect the country.

The president challenged the soldiers to uphold professionalism in their duties saying the people of Somalia’s hope to have a peaceful and stable country depends on them.

President Mohamud also held a special meeting  with top military officials to discuss the progress of the operation against the Al-Shabaab and stress the need to ensure the government wins the war and stabilize all parts of Somalia.
