President Mohamud Urges Unity, Inclusive Governance in Talks With Northeastern State Speaker

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has renewed his call for unity and inclusive governance, urging regional leaders to strengthen cooperation with the Federal Government to safeguard Somalia’s hard-won stability.

Speaking during a meeting with Dr. Aden Abdullahi Aw-hasan, Speaker of the newly established Northeastern State Parliament, President Mohamud said peace and dialogue remain the foundation of Somalia’s progress in state-building, security, and democracy.

“The unity of the Somali people is our greatest strength,” he said, calling on leaders across all regions to prioritize harmony and national cohesion over division.

The President’s message underscores his administration’s push to deepen federal cooperation and reconciliation, ensuring that emerging regional entities contribute to Somalia’s long-term stability.

Dr. Aw-hasan expressed support for the President’s call, pledging that his parliament will work closely with the Federal Government to advance peace and effective governance in the Northeastern State.

The renewed emphasis on dialogue and coordination is expected to help ease tensions between regional and federal authorities, reinforcing Somalia’s broader path toward political stability and national unity.
