President Sheikh Hassan picks adviser on federal states’ relations

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has picked Mohamed Hassan Ibrahim (Qoone) as his Adviser on Federal-State Relations, the office of the Somali Presidency said.

Qoone, who is a former Member of Parliament for HirShabelle’s Beletweyne city, was tasked by the president to improve and fortify the cooperative ties between Villa Somalia and the five federal states of Somalia – Puntland, Galmudug, HirShabelle, Southwest, and Jubaland.

His appointment comes a few days after the five Federal Member States announced in a joint communique that they had suspended all cooperation with the Federal ministry of finance.
