Djibouti awards President Sheikh Mohamud with its Highest Medal of Honor
GOOBJOOG NEWS|DJIBOUTI: A delegation led by Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud arrived in Djibouti on Saturday to improve bilateral ties between the two countries.
The delegation was warmly welcomed at the Ambouli International Airport by the President of Djibouti, Ismail Omar Guelleh.
The Somali president and his delegation were hosted to an official dinner party held in their honor at the Djibouti Presidential Palace.
At the dinner reception, President Hassan Sheikh was awarded Djibouti’s Highest Medal of Honor by his Djiboutian counterpart H.E Ismail Omar Guelleh, which Villa Somalia said it “reaffirmed the deep bond and brotherly ties between the two nations.”
The President’s itinerary includes delivering a speech in the Djibouti Parliament house on the situation in Somalia and the significance of the bilateral relationship between the two countries.
This is Mohamud’s fifth overseas trip since he was elected president on May 15, with his most recent trip being to Kenya on Friday, where he signed a couple of agreements with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
