Presidential candidates to present speeches today

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: Somali presidential candidates are today set to make their speeches at the Aficio Tent Center, after the registration of candidates was concluded on Tuesday.

Thirty-nine candidates have registered to run for the presidential race and today, 20 of them will present 15-minute speeches before members of both houses of parliament, while the remaining nineteen are expected to address members of the two houses on Thursday.

Each candidate is expected to outline his/her political ideologies if elected as the 10th President of the Somali Republic.

Among candidates who will address lawmakers today include the former Somali Prime Minister Hassan Ali Kheyre and Abdirahman Abdishakur Warsame.
