Presidential Election Committee holds first meeting in Mogadishu

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: The First Deputy Speaker of the Upper House Ali Shabaan Ibrahim today chaired the first meeting of the Joint Committee for the election of the President of Somalia in Mogadishu.

Among those present at the meeting were the second Deputy Speaker of the House of the People Abdullahi Omar Abshirow and the two secretaries of Parliament.

The 17-member commission will today be expected to elect a chairman and a secretary from among its members, and also issue the Somali presidential election schedule.
