GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre hosted a farewell dinner last night for the outgoing United Arab Emirates Ambassador to Somalia, Mohamed Ahmed Al-Othmani.
The Prime Minister thanked the UAE Government for its support to Somalia, and expressed his gratitude to the Ambassador for the great role he played in the country during his tenure.
The Ambassadors’ exit follows the appointment of a new ambassador to Somalia in September in what the UAE termed as part of a broader diplomatic shake-up in “friendly countries.”
Ahmad Juma Al Rumaithi will take over as the Gulf nation’s top representative in Somalia, replacing Mohamed Ahmed Al-Othman, who has been in office since 2012.
