GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Professor Saalim Aliyow Ibrow has officially assumed office as Somalia’s new Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, following a formal handover ceremony held in Mogadishu on Saturday.

Prof. Ibrow took over from outgoing minister and Member of Parliament Yusuf Mohamed Aadan during an event attended by senior ministry officials, lawmakers, and other dignitaries.

In his remarks, the new minister pledged to serve with “integrity and diligence,” saying he would focus on transparency, efficiency, and delivering services that improve livelihoods across the country.

Former Minister Aadan, who led the ministry through several reforms, cited progress in youth employment initiatives as one of his key achievements, noting that “many jobs for young people were created” during his tenure.

The ceremony concluded with the formal transfer of ministry documents as both leaders expressed commitment to advancing Somalia’s labor and social welfare priorities.
