GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Hundreds of people gathered in central Mogadishu on Sunday in a public show of support for Somalia’s unity, as protests against Israel’s alleged actions over the country’s sovereignty gained momentum.

Demonstrators assembled at the Daljirka Dahsoon monument, with women forming the majority of the crowd, chanting slogans and carrying messages rejecting any move they said threatened Somalia’s territorial integrity. Protesters said Somalia was indivisible and vowed to oppose any attempt to fragment the country.

Several participants told state media they stood firmly behind the federal government and supported efforts to defend the nation’s sovereignty. One protester, Aasho Ali Aasho, said demonstrators would not back down from their position.

The protest reflected growing public pressure in Mogadishu and followed increasing diplomatic criticism from Somalia and some international bodies, which have stressed that Somalia’s unity and sovereignty are protected under international law.

Officials say the demonstrations underline domestic support for the government’s stance as it seeks broader regional and international backing on the issue.
