Public transport between Mogadishu and Jowhar back to normal
Public transport using Jowhar –Mogadishu highway came back to normal after 24 hours strike organized by drivers and car owners.
Our correspondent in middle Shabelle region says a large number of passengers are seen in various stations in the town preparing for journey.
The strike came after one of the drivers was shot dead by a government soldier in the outskirts of Jowhar town on Tuesday.
The driver and the soldier who was controlling a checkpoint quarreled over levy and finally shot dead the driver.
In a statement Somali military court said they have registered the individuals that set up illegal roadblocks in the roads linking Shabelle and Banadir regions and will soon brought to justice.
The drivers’ strike came a time when people are full preparations for Idul-fitri celebration which is to be marked the first days of next week.
