Puntland announces state burial for former leader Adde

Former president of Puntland Mahmoud Isse Hirsi will be accorded state funeral in Bosaso, the state government has announced.

Puntland President Abdiweli Mohamed Ali said the body of Hirsi ‘Adde’ will be flown in from Dubai where he passed on last week for state burial in Bosaso.

Adde who was reportedly receiving medical treatment in the past months in UAE passed away Wednesday morning.

Adde became the second President of Puntland state from 2005 till 2009.
