Puntland Assembly to debate on Gal-Mudug State

The Regional Parliamentarians of Puntland are taking meeting to debate on the newly formed state of Galmudug.

President of semi-autonomous regional state of Puntland is expected to appear before the regional MPs to address the issues.

Puntland refused to recognize the outcome of the state formation conference in Adado and the newly elected president of the state.

Puntland’s Minister of Information, Mohamed Hassan So’ade said that elections of the Galmudug state’s head in Adado was equally a sham process and as a result Puntland will also not recognize the newly elected head of Galmudug State Abdikarim Hussein Guled.

The gathering comes a day after the newly elected President of Galmudug State; Abdikarim Hussein Guled said that he wants to talk to Puntland in dialogue to iron out the differences.

“We are ready to talk to each and every side, our brothers of Puntland, we say let’s help each other, together work on security and set up a co-operation,” he said.
