GOOBJOOG NEWS|PUNTLAND: Security forces in Puntland have launched massive swoops in various cities targeting foreigners who are in the state illegally.

Security sources said up to 300 people have been arrested in the operation, which began on Monday. The swoops are part of the ongoing crackdown on the ISIS militant group.

The seizures follow the revelation that most of the ISIS fighters are foreigners and could be linked to the influx of ISIS remnants in Syria and Iraq.

On Sunday, six of the eight ISIS fighters who were captured by security forces are foreigners. Several other foreigners have been killed in military operations which started late last year.

The Puntland government has issued a raft of directive in the past week targeting hotels and other private businesses.
