Puntland Forces Mount Fresh Assault on ISIS Militants in Bari Region

GOOBJOOG NEWS|BARI: Puntland Security Forces mounted a fierce operation agianst ISIS militants Wednesday morning in Tog-Jaceel mountaneous regions in yet another deadly assault against the group.

Authorities in Puntland said the forces attacked the area from four directions, targeting ISIS militants who are reportedly hiding as operations intensify.

Today’s operation comes in the wake of a suspected airstrike Tuesday night which security officials said it killed 15 foreign fighters.

President Donald Trump said on Sunday he ordered an airstrike which killed a senior ISIS figure in the Al-Miskad mountain ranges in Bari region.

Several ISIS fighters have been killed or captured since the operation begun in December.
