GOOBJOOG NEWS|GAROWE: The Puntland government has announced a series of tough security measures to clamp down on potential entry and operation of the ISIS militant group in major towns across the state.

According to a directive from the Ministry of Security, all businesses and organisations are supposed to observe strict measures to monitor the movement of suspicious persons. All foreigners entering Puntland either by air, land, and sea are required to seek clearance, the directive says.

Private organisations and companies are required to register details of new foreign employees within 72 hours, while hotels and other places offering accommodations must report to details of visitors every 24 hours.

Today’s directives are in addition to measures issued last week that banned the use of mobile numbers by beggers on the streets and in mosques.
