Puntland, Jubbaland supports the Upper House denial of the general election process

The regional state governments of Puntland and Jubbaland have supported the upper chamber’s efforts to find a solution to the federal and state government election process, as well as the disagreements within the Lower House of parliament.

The upper house of the federal parliament rejected the 2021 election bill approved by the Lower House parliament which is said to be different from the one that was agreed the two houses before.

“Jubbaland state welcomes the resolution issued by the Speaker of the Upper House, Abdi Hashi Abdullahi for the responding to the Bill which falsely based and validated by some members of the Lower House parliament”. Jubaland said in a press statement.

Puntland authorities commend the efforts led by the Upper House speaker who worked to bring together the federal government and state leaders for a consultative meeting to review election issues on 2020/2021.
