GOOBJOOG NEWS | GAROWE: Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni has said the deployment of 300 newly trained police officers to Garowe reflects his administration’s determination to build a disciplined and professional force capable of restoring public trust and ensuring stability in the regional capital.

Speaking during the deployment ceremony, President Deni said the initiative was part of broader reforms aimed at strengthening law enforcement and addressing recent security lapses linked to indiscipline and misconduct among some officers.

“The goal is to have a knowledgeable and ethical police force that serves the public and protects the stability of Puntland’s towns,” Deni said, emphasizing that accountability and professionalism must guide the new recruits as they take up their duties.

The president noted that the new officers, graduates trained at the Military College in Carmo, would play a critical role in enhancing public safety and reinforcing order in Garowe, which has seen sporadic insecurity in recent months.

Security officials said the government has equipped the recruits with vehicles, weapons, and modern facilities to support operations. The deployment is expected to strengthen community confidence and contribute to Puntland’s long-term stability.
