Puntland local government due to support IDPs affected by rain in Garowe

The local government of Puntland administration is taking steps to deliver support to IDPs who have no shelter to protect from the downpour and subsequent flooding in some areas of Puntland the last twenty four hours.

An official of Puntland Local authority Mustaf Ibrahim said that they are ready to distribute food and blankets to the internally displaced affected by the heavy rains in Garowe.

He urged the humanitarian aid agencies in the region to deliver emergency assistance to the desperate people affected by the rains.

The rains fell as some regions South and Central Somalia including Gedo,Bakol, Galgadud and Mudug regions experience drought that has killed many people mostly children and elderly people due to hunger and thirsty.
