Puntland Rubbishes Claims It Barred Aircraft Accompanying PM Barre to Las’Anod

GOOBJOOG NEWS|GAROWE: Puntland has refuted claims that it barred one of the aircrafts carrying the delegation that accompanied prime minister Hamze Barre to Las’anod on Saturday.

The Puntland Ministry of Civil Aviation Authority said the claims circulating on socal media were false and that it did not take any action against fllights heading to Las’anod.

“The Ministry of Civil Aviation and Airports of the Puntland regional state would like to clarify to the Somali people, especially the people of Puntland, that there is no plane that has been grounded,” the Ministry said in a statement.

Reports emerged on social media Saturday that one of the flights was barred by authorities in Puntland amid claims that the Abdullahi Deni administration objected to the Prime Minister’s visit.
