Radio Goobjoog holds Symposium in Mogadishu
Radio Goobjoog Tuesday held in the Somali Capital of Mogadishu a symposium titled: How to resettle Somali refugees who were dispersed in many countries.
The symposium held at the conference hall Somali Media Academy with participation of politicians, students, intellectuals and prominent figures from the Somali community such as

Mohamud Osman Dufle, Chairperson Somali parliament’s Social Services Development Committee
Abdisamed Moalim Mohamud, Deputy chairperson of electoral commission.
Mohamed Sheikh Ali, Chairman of the National Disaster Management.
Sheikh Yussuf Ali Aynte, chairperson of Somali clerics.
Sheikh Mohamud Sheikh Ahmed, deputy chairperson of Somali clerics.

MP Abdikadir Osoble Ali speaking at the meeting said that Kenyan government should reinforce the tripartite agreement on the situation of refugees which signed by Somalia government, UNHCR and government Kenya.
He added that the heinous attack on Garrisa University forced Kenya to decide to close down of Dadaab comp and return Somali refugees.
“Somali government has currently no capability to repatriate and resettle its refugees in many countries especially those in Kenya but the civil society in collaborating with the traders can play important role in the process of the repatriation and resettlement of Somali refugees”
On his part, Mohamed Osman Dufle, explained that possible ways to allocate resettlement for the expatriates are to create awareness through Somali media and the government to come with clear plans to return its people.
Abdullahi Mohamaed Shirwa’a, head of civil society said that to solve Somalia’s long existing problems, the government should get the exact number of expatriates who willing to return home then National organization should be form to consult and seek support from International NGOs.
“The government should solve the political crisis in the nation then prepare projects to resettle the refugees” he highlighted.
This comes at a time when Somali refugees are pressured from different sides, Kenyan government which allowed Somali refugees to live its land since Somali central government toppled has decided to close down largest comp in the world which host over 500,000 Somalis.
On the other hand Yemen, place where Somalis fled has turned into blazed house after Saudi led coalition started bombing Houthi militias who want topple internationally recognized government of Yemen.
