Record Number of Students Sit for Somali National University Entrance Exam
GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Close to 4,000 students participated in the National University Admission Test for the Somali National University, the highest number of candidates in the institution’s history.
Federal Government of Somalia’s Education Minister Farah Sheikh Abdulqadir while making the announcement in Mogadishu said that 3,924 students sat for the exam, reflecting a growing interest in higher education among Somali youth.
The Minister also announced that the university will be enhancing its faculty with new teachers specializing in languages and technical subjects to ensure robust foundational training for incoming students.
“The students must prepare themselves for an international stage. Students should be ready to adapt in a global academic environment,” the minister said.
Somali National University president Prof. Hassan Osman Ga’al expressed the institution’s commitment to excellence.
He stated that the university aims to extend its reach to all regions of Somalia, ensuring accessibility without financial barriers and reaffirmed the university’s dedication to providing quality education and preparing students to excel in their academic pursuits.
This year’s record turnout is an indication to the resilience and ambition of Somali students, as well as the ongoing efforts to rebuild and strengthen the nation’s educational infrastructure.
