Regional Court Finds Four Journalists Guilty on Spreading False Against Government
It has recently been concluded the trail four of five Somali journalists who were accused of spreading falsehood against government and incitement of violence, according to the charge sheet, by regional court in Mogadishu on Sunday.
The court found four of journalis ts guilty while fifth journalist detained and he is reportedly expected to appear before the once again court for further personal trail.
Abdi Maalik who is the Owner of Radio Shabelle was fined $ 10,000 dollars, Mohamed Abdi Ali Head of News gathering for Risaala FM has to pay $ 500 US dollars as fine, Ahmed Abdi Hassan deputy head of news For Shabelle was slapped with 500 US dollars, Mohamed Arab the Director of Radio Sky has to pay 2000 Us dollars while Mohamed Bashir the head of News for Radio Shabelle will reappear before the court.
Mohamed Ibrahim Pakistan, secretary of National Union of Somali Journalists (NUSOJ) speaking to Goobjoog News said that NUSOJ is convinced with the sentence and welcomed the conclusion of the case.
