Regional judge injured in Galkaayo
Mudug regional court magistrate, Abdirahman Kilwa was wounded by unidentified gunmen on Monday evening in Galkaayo town.
Kilwa was injured as he was walking out of a restaurant, according to witnesses.
“I was near the restaurant when the shooting took place. The magistrate was shot and wound by two gunmen who escaped from the scene,” said a local resident who is not willing to be named.
The reason behind the Kilwe’s attack is unclear though Puntland officials blame Al-Shabaab members for the assassination attempt.
The officials said Kilwa was taken to a nearby hospital, where he is current being treated from the injuries he had from the attack.
