GOOBJOOG NEWS | JOWHAR: A series of intense airstrikes on Tuesday night targeted Al-Shabaab positions in the Middle Shabelle region, inflicting heavy casualties on the militants, including several key commanders.

The strikes, which hit Daarunicma in Adan Yabaal district, destroyed militant bases, with eyewitnesses reporting large flames and thick smoke rising into the night sky.

Similar airstrikes were carried out in Ceelbaraf district, where Al-Shabaab reportedly suffered significant losses, including the destruction of three military vehicles and numerous fighter casualties between Biyacadde and Ceelbaraf.

While the Somali government has not issued an official statement on the operation, security forces are currently assessing the impact.

The military, working closely with local communities, has intensified its campaign in the HirShabelle region, aiming to dismantle Al-Shabaab’s stronghold while minimizing casualties among civilians and national army forces.

Military officials have reaffirmed their commitment to eradicating the militant group and restoring stability to the region.
