Road accident leaves two dead, eight injured in Garowe

Goobjoog News/ Garowe: Two people have been confirmed dead and eight others injured in a road accident which occured on the eastern outskirts of Garowe.

According to eyewitnesses, the accident took place after two vehicles collided head-on, causing one of the vehicles to veer off the road.

Traffic police who arrived at the scene immediately after the accident together with members of the public, helped rush the injured to Garowe City Hospital.

According to traffic police officials, the crash left two people dead and eight others with injuries.

Mohamed Abdikarin Omar, a staff member attached to the Puntland President’s Office, was among the two people killed in the Garowe accident.

The stretch on the outskirts of Garowe has been a scene of a series of accidents mainly caused by over speeding vehicles.
