Road blocks in Lower Shabele region out of hand

Some districts of Lower Shabele region are now experiencing new wave of illegal road blocks that paralyzed the business activities and transportation system of the region.

Road blocks were set up  most of the roads that lead to the districts of Lower Shabele region that slowed down the movement of the people and goods in the region.

The residents blamed  the Somali National Forces and other militias on the increasing illegal checkpoints,  adding it has boosted the amount of illegal money taken from passengers and vehicles to and fro Lower Shabele region .

Eye witnesses in Afgoye confirmed to Gob Jog that armed men in  military  uniform robbed passengers beating them up.

Officials from transport association and drivers who visited the headquarters of Gob Jog FM asked the  top leaders of the government to do something of the illegal road blocks in the region.

The Federal government of Somalia has repeatedly announced to fight the  illegal road blocks set up by men  in military uniform, but nothing has been done so far according to the drivers and car owners.
