Roadside blast kills at least 18 people outside Mogadishu
At least 18 civilians confirmed dead in Lafole locality, some 13km to the southwest of Mogadishu on this Thursday morning. A minibus carrying about twenty passengers travelling between Mogadishu and Afogye engulfed with huge road blast believed to be remotely controlled. Among the dead, a father and his sons.
Passengers travelling alongside the road with the targeted minibus horrified “It was a huge explosion. It consumed the entire car. 19 people out 20 dead in scene” told eye wittiness to Goobjoog News
At the time of the explosion, a military vehicle full of soldiers was travelling with passenger cars and it believed to be the target of the explosion.
No group has immediately claimed the responsibility of the attack, but Alshabab had previously carried out blast attacks against Somali government soldiers and passengers.
