Roble, FMS leaders to review polls process in talks today
GOOBJOOG NEWS/MOGADISHU: National Consultative Forum which had been convened by the Prime Minister, Mohamed Hussein Roble is set to kick off today (Saturday) at the Afisyoni tent in Mogadishu. The meeting which had been earlier scheduled for Thursday 19th but got postponed will see all the five Federal Member States including Benadir Regional Administration (BRA) attend the meeting with the aim of discussing preparations for the Lower House elections and the issue of electoral funds.
The talks will also be reviewing progress in the Upper House elections. Only two FMS- Puntland and Southwest have concluded the exercise.
All the regional leaders including Galmudug’s President, Ahmed Qoorqoor, Jubbaland’s Leader, Ahmed Madobe and SouthWest’s President, Abdiaziz Laftagreen streamed into Mogadishu yesterday in preparation for consultative talks between the Federal Government and Regional States. President, Abdullahi Deni, is expected to arrive in Mogadishu today. The conference comes after Somalia failed to meet the deadline in finishing parliamentary elections due to a rift between the two factions.
