GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Saudi Arabia has reiterated its firm support for the unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia, rejecting any actions that undermine the country’s constitutional order.

During a cabinet meeting chaired by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the kingdom said it opposed any attempts to establish parallel institutions or administrations that contradict Somalia’s unity or threaten its territorial integrity.

The cabinet said Saudi Arabia rejects any form of division or actions that undermine Somalia’s sovereignty, national unity or political independence, reaffirming its support for Somalia as a single, unified state recognised under international law.

In a statement, the kingdom welcomed positions and resolutions previously adopted by the League of Arab States and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, which back Somalia’s unity and territorial integrity.

Saudi Arabia said its stance aligns with broader regional and international consensus on respect for Somalia’s sovereignty and the principle of non-interference, and reaffirmed its commitment to stand alongside the Somali people in support of unity, stability and peace.
