Finance Minister Beileh to chair 2nd joint meeting with regional states finance ministers

Finance Minister Abdirahman Beileh is today chairing the second joint meeting between the finance ministers from the federal and regional states in Kismayu, the capital of Jubbaland state.

The meeting which follows a similar one in December is aimed at building a working relationship between the two levels of government on cross cutting economic and financial matters.

Key among the discussions in the meetings is resources sharing, taxation, and sharing of international donors aid between the regional states and the federal governments.

Finance ministers from members states and the federal government held a week-long meeting in Mogadishu early this month which focused on harmonisation of budgeting processes, systems and increasing transparency on achieving a single national budget.
