Security conference kicks off in Mogadishu
GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: A security conference aimed at discussing progress in the fight against Al-Shabaab in the country has kicked off in Mogadishu.
The meeting which is being chaired by the Federal Government of Somalia’s Defense Minister Abdiqadir Mohamed Noor will also strategize on a joint plan for the second phase of the operation to liberate the country from the terror group.
Troop contributing countries will also participate in the three-day strategy meeting which is also attended by the country’s internal affairs minister, the minister of internal security, and other top security officials.
Also in attendance are security ministers from regional states under the invitation of the special envoy for the Federal Government of Somalia Mr. Mohamed Abdi Waare.
