Security forces arrest Al-Shabaab explosives expert in Mogadishu

Somali security forces have on yesterday arrested Al-Shabaab member in a planned operation in the capital Mogadishu.

In a planned operation carried out by the security forces on yesterday April 5, 2019, captured an Al-Shabaab member who was in charge of the explosive devices that are attached to targeted vehicles in the capital Mogadishu.

The security forces have been carrying out the operations for the last weeks in collaboration with AMISOM forces, raided several houses to flush out Al-Shabaab suspects.

Security officials believe armed groups have used residential areas as bases to prepare attacks and then mingle with residents in urban areas to carry them out.
