Security forces unbury explosives devices at Baardheere town of Gedo region

Security forces of Jubbaland state have yesterday unearthed explosive devices suspected to have been planted by militant groups in the town following an operation carried out in Baardheere district of Gedo region.

A statement from the Security Forces in Jubbaland said that the security forces had unearthed landmines which were aimed at vehicles using the road.

The discovery comes days after two senior Al-Shabaab members have surrendered to Somali federal government security forces in Baardheere district of Gedo region who were transported and currently under custody in Mogadishu

The federal government security forces and Jubbaland security forces have been conducting operations in Baardheere district of Gedo region for the past weeks.
