Security officer injured in hand grenade attack in Baidoa
One security officer has been injured in hand grenade attacks on residential house Saturday evening in Baidoa town in southern Somalia.
Adan Bashiir, a Police in the town said that the attackers hurled two hand grenades at a house owned by the head of Somali National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) forces.
“We have reports of grenade attack on residential house of the commander of NISA in Baidoa and unfortunately a security officer has been injured,”
He said that no arrest has been made so far in the Sunday attack.
The police reached the area and cordoned off for investigation.
Witnesses said the hand grenades were hurled by unidentified group who disappeared after the incident.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks but the militant group Al-Shabaab has in the past carried out such attacks.
