Security sweep in Baladwein Town nets several suspects
Somali government forces backed by supported African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) troops have launched massive security operation in Baladwein Town.
Reports indicate that the soldiers were inspecting people and vehicles using the main roads of the town.
The police commissioner of Hiraan region, Isack Ali Abdullahi speaking to Goobjoog News said that the aim of the ongoing security operations is to tighten security of Baladwein town which is currently hosting reconciliation conference of clans inhibiting Hiraan region.
“The operations were intended to beef up the security of the town and as well as the whole district, the forces apprehended several suspected AL-Shabab members and they will be investigated thoroughly” he underlined.
He finally called upon the residents of this region to collaborate with the government soldiers as to tighten the security.
The government soldiers backed by AMISOM troops have been conducting security sweep to tighten the security of the town.
