Senate names House leadership election committee

Somalia’s Upper House members have appointed 6-member committee assigned to hold the election of senate leadership which is expected to take place soon.

The session has focus on the upcoming elections of Speakers of Upper Houses of Parliament.

The appointed committee will facilitated and hold the leadership elections.

Names of the committees are as follows:

  1. Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail
  2. Hussein Sheikh Mohamed
  3. Mohamed Osman Dhagajun.
  4. Jawahir Ahmed Elmi.
  5. Farhan Ali Hussein.
  6. Abdirisack Ahmed Ali.

Members pegged the filing fee for senate leadership at $15,000.

Though there is no new date set for the election, the members agreed  appointed committee to schedule the upcoming elections of Speakers.
